Congrats to Ne-Yo as he signs to Motown Records from Def Jam Records. Not only is he signed as an artist but he will be bringing his whole Compound Entertainment imprint to the label and take on the role as senior VP of A&R at the legendary label. Ne-Yo spoke on the new appointment saying, “I’m honored that I¹ve been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility; terrified because I know that playing this role in the fashion of one of my career role models, Mr. Smokey Robinson — these are big shoes to fill. But trust, I can handle it”. Be interesting to see what he brings to this legendary label.

We had the pleasure of meeting the scratch legend that is ‘DJ Dummy’ late in 2011 when he was on tour with J.Cole and we were fortunate enough to witness what this guy is capable live on stage in front of 1000′s of people, simply breathtaking. What he shows here is that it doesn’t matter how far forward to DJ technology goes, it’s still creativity & skill that makes the DJ what they are, not the technology. #Salute to you DJ Dummy #KindOfABIGDeal

Simon Cowell’s production company SYCO has announced the launch of a new international TV talent show that will scour the globe for a new DJ, in partnership with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s production company. The fact that Will Smith is involved makes this sound slightly credible but at the same time if it goes the way x-factor does then there’s not going to be much to look forward too. It will still be interesting to watch regardless.
